Bambusa Oldhamii

Bambusa Oldhamii is one of my favorites. One day I received a package in the mail that turned out to be a division from my good friend Farley in San Jose, CA area. In just a few years it has turned into a rather large clump with thick culms that are arrow straight up and down at 90 degrees and at least 40 foot high.

This very desirable bamboo grows to 55' tall with 4" diameter culms. It's hardy to a minimum temperature of 20°F. Minimum USDA zone: 9A. The culms have relatively short branches forming fairly open clumps. Culm walls are thick, but soft.
